Hello everyone,
So... Well, this is my first blog (so excuse the insipid presentation),
Just a short poem on the complex feelings one gets on the many journeys one takes in his duration on this planet!
Every short journey teaches us about the world around us, but above all it helps us understand ourselves a little more.
My journey through the boulders of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (as I prepared for Engineering) taught me many things any textbook couldn't teach me. Whenever we set out to do any task, all of us experience the pressure, the workload, the mixed emotions, and most importantly, the small voice in our head directing us forward.
This poem attempts to relate these journeys with an actual trek through nature...
A mountain above,
An abyss below,
A long way we've come,
A long way to go.
The bottom forgotten,
The end nowhere in sight,
The whirlpool of gravity,
The never-ending fight.
The short easy paths,
Among the endless gorge,
An aim to achieve,
A new life to forge.
The small ponds of water,
bringing back life,
And then the turbulent river,
With its endless strife.
The nights getting shorter,
Days merging into one,
The punishing rain,
And the punishing sun.
The fear of one misstep,
being our very last,
The fear of reliving,
The long-forgotten past.
The twists and the turns,
And then the straight street.
The worn out mind,
The worn out feet.
The body breaking down,
But the heart still alive.
The steady drumbeat is still heard,
Encouragement to survive.
The dream still clear,
The goal still strong,
The inner voice still firm,
The will to go on.
The path getting tougher,
The slope getting steeper,
The load getting heavier,
The end getting nearer.
The laze and the resignation,
Now replaced by the hope,
It's a one way ladder up,
It's not a tightrope.
A slight flicker of the rainbow,
Amidst all the rain.
Fight and endure,
No pain, no gain.
A mountain above,
An abyss below,
A long way we've come,
A long way to go
Thanks for reading people!
Please give me your feedback,
And best of luck for all the journeys you may take. Remember that you are the master of the path you travel upon. Never give up, because the journey finishes only when you reach the top.
